The new soft close doors are hung and working very well. Very pleased with how well they work. Now need to find some door handles and complete the side trim (putting it off as I think that will take me a lot of time).
A last minute discovery that one of my favourite musicians was playing a new venue (to me) in my one home city led to a very enjoyable Sunday evening last week.
Miles Hunt (The Wonder Stuff’s troubadour) was on his usual top form and we really liked our first visit to Nottingham’s The Old Cold Store at the rear of Castle Rock Brewery’s Vat and Fiddle. It’s a lovely little venue that was full of appreciation for Miles.
It keeps feeling weird. Finished working for company I have been with for 30 years. Have been applying for job and having interviews for a few months now…. And an now officially a Jobseeker….

We had a lovely weekend meeting up with family in Woodhall Spa to celebrate my Dad’s 80th birthday.
Lovely to see the local wildlife enjoying our garden and using the lawn as a good store.
I had a nice walk along the Trent Embankment looking at the narrow boats on Wednesday, poor to visit to Nottingham County Council….
We spent a week of the summer, decorating and refreshing the living room. The ‘hideous’ ceiling rose is gone and the ceiling skilfully skimmed by Andy. We have given the room a quick repaint and new carpet is down and we have replaced the sofas (long over due), just new lights and cupboard to finish off the makeover.
